These terms govern your use of Enos, a Bible reading app at enosversion.com and its mobile apps. By creating an account or using Enos, you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the app.
What Enos is
Enos is a community Bible reading app: a calendar-based reading plan, multiple Bible translations and audio Bibles, reading-progress tracking, public-domain commentary, and an optional AI feature for asking questions about a passage. It's free to use.
Your account
Eligibility
Enos is not directed at children under 13, and you shouldn't use it if you're under that age. If your region sets a higher minimum age for using online services without parental consent, that age applies instead.
Accurate information
You agree to provide a real email address (or use Google sign-in) and to keep your account credentials secure. You're responsible for activity that happens under your account.
Closing your account
You can stop using Enos and request deletion of your account at any time -- see the Privacy Policy for how.
Acceptable use
Please don't:
- Use Enos for anything illegal, or in a way that harasses or harms others.
- Try to disrupt the service -- scraping at scale, reverse-engineering, introducing malware, or attempting to bypass access controls.
- Misuse the AI Bible Q&A feature to generate content unrelated to its purpose or to abuse the underlying API.
- Impersonate another person or misrepresent your affiliation with Enos.
We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms.
Bible text, translations, and commentary
Enos's default text is the public-domain King James Version. Additional translations and audio are sourced through YouVersion's Platform API and the Digital Bible Platform (Bible Brain), and are subject to those providers' own licensing terms -- Enos doesn't claim ownership of translated Bible text it displays under license. The included commentary (Matthew Henry's Concise Commentary) is public domain; where it's shown translated into French or German within the app, that translation is machine-generated and not an official edition.
The AI Q&A feature
Enos includes an optional AI feature for asking questions about Scripture. Its answers are generated by a third-party AI model and, while grounded in the biblical text where possible, can be incomplete or mistaken. It isn't a substitute for your own study, a pastor, or a theologian, and shouldn't be relied on as authoritative doctrine.
Intellectual property
Aside from public-domain and licensed third-party content described above, the Enos name, design, and app code belong to its developer. You're welcome to use the app for personal Bible study; you don't have permission to copy, resell, or build a competing product from Enos's own design or code.
Third-party services
Enos relies on third-party providers (Supabase, Vercel, our AI provider, YouVersion, and Bible Brain) to operate -- see the Privacy Policy for details on each. Their own terms and availability can affect Enos's functionality, and we aren't responsible for their outages or changes.
No warranty
Enos is provided "as is," without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We don't guarantee the app will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that reading progress, streaks, or other data will never be lost -- though we take reasonable care to prevent that.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Enos and its developer aren't liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the app. Enos is a free, small, independently-run project, and this reflects that.
Changes to these terms
If these terms change, we'll update the date at the top of this page. If a change is significant, we'll let you know by email.
